Your GP checks TSH.
That's not enough.

If you're on levothyroxine — or symptomatic despite a "normal" result — you need more than one marker. Monitr tests five thyroid markers every quarter, at home, with results that show direction of travel.

The problem

NHS testing was built for diagnosis. Not monitoring.

Once you're diagnosed and medicated, most GPs check TSH once a year. One number, once a year, tells you almost nothing about whether your treatment is actually working.

What most people get

"Your TSH is normal."

TSH only. No FT3. No FT4. No antibodies. The reference range is broad — you can sit at the edge feeling exhausted, losing hair, and still be told everything is fine.

What Monitr gives you

"Here's your trend across five markers."

Five markers every quarter with plain-language context — direction of travel, not just a snapshot. See what's changing, what isn't, and what to ask your doctor.

Home collection

Unlike any blood test
you've done before.

Most home testing kits use finger-prick lancets — uncomfortable, unreliable, and often requiring multiple attempts. We use something completely different.

The Monitr way

Gentle suction. No needles. Two minutes.

Our collection device applies gentle suction to your upper arm, drawing a consistent, clinical-grade blood sample in under two minutes. Virtually painless.

The old way

Finger pricks that hurt, fail, and frustrate.

Traditional home tests use lancets that require a deep finger prick to get enough blood. Painful, messy, and if not done perfectly the sample can be compromised — which can affect sample quality and result accuracy.

How it works

What we test

Five markers. Every quarter.

Not just TSH — the full thyroid picture.

TSH
Thyroid Stimulating Hormone
The primary brain-to-thyroid signal. Essential — but only the starting point.
FT3
Free Triiodothyronine
The active hormone at cellular level. FT3 is the active thyroid hormone at cellular level — it can add important context alongside TSH, especially when symptoms persist.
FT4
Free Thyroxine
The storage hormone your body converts to T3. Helps show how much circulating thyroxine is available in your blood.
TPO
Thyroid Peroxidase Antibodies
The key Hashimoto's marker. Can help identify autoimmune thyroid patterns such as Hashimoto's — something most people have never had properly tracked.
TgAb
Thyroglobulin Antibodies
A second antibody marker. Together with TPO, provides additional antibody context for a more complete thyroid picture.
Why five? TSH alone is a blunt instrument. FT3 and FT4 reveal whether medication is converting properly. TPO and TgAb identify Hashimoto's and show whether autoimmune activity is increasing or reducing. Most people with Hashimoto's have never had their antibodies properly monitored.
